Five Favorite Watches Featured in Film
1. Heuer Monaco
The Heuer Monaco, introduced in 1969, is one of the most popular “race watches” due to its connection with Steve McQueen and the 1971 race movie LeMans. However, the Monaco doesn’t have a tachymeter scale because it was originally conceived as a “design watch” for architects.
2. Rolex Submariner
Rolex aired a 60 second montage, titled Celebrating Cinema, during the 2017 Academy Awards to mark their first year as official sponsors. The video is a powerful reminder of the small role Rolex has played in so many great films, and their impact on popular culture. For example Sean Connery wore a Rolex Submariner reference 6538 in Dr. No until the end of his career as Bond in You Only Live Twice. As a result, the reference 6538 is referred to as the James Bond watch among watch enthusiasts.
3. Omega Seamaster 300 SPECTRE Limited Edition
In Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd thinks she has Bond figured out, right down to his watch:
“Rolex?” she asks.“Omega,” Bond replies.“Beautiful,” Lynd assesses.
Omega became associated with 007 when Pierce Brosnan wore a Seamaster Professional in Golden Eye. To younger fans, the James Bond watch is an Omega. My favorite James Bond watch is the Seamaster 300 from Spectre.

4. Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual
The night of his car accident, Doctor Strange chose to wear his Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual – featuring a meaningful love message on its case back:
‘Time will tell you how much I love you ~ Christine’
According to Hodinkee the perpetual is the grand complication that gets the most people excited about what mechanical watchmaking can do.

5. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph
Ari wore a Royal Oak Chronograph, Turtle wore one, Murphy too, and so did Drama. Vince is the only character from the crew who didn’t wear a Royal Oak chronograph probably because he didn’t wear a watch in the movie. Had Vince worn a watch, perhaps it would have been an AP.
