Sequel to the “Freaky’s” release on August 10, 2018, Santi follows up with fascinating visuals for the single. The visuals which are set for a worldwide release tomorrow saw an early debut on the Fader today.
Before this release, Santi had fun teasing clips of old Nollywood Horror films. This immediately grabbed the attention of fans, some of which left the lasting quote “your spiritual name is mistake” etched somewhere in our minds.
Little surprise the video features Santi as an exorcist drawing the same inspiration from this childhood riddled with Nollywood Horror flicks.
The visuals are an unprecedented & unfamiliar approach by a Nigerian artist expressing simple but effective lyrics, listeners can now enjoy a well thought out video to a beloved single, as the visual themes explored truly bring the song to life. Music has never been so personal to such a wide and grateful audience. This creativity coupled with Santi’s already unique sound is a perfect set up for world-wide domination.
Not to sound like a broken record, but this genuine creativity is rare in the industry, and is a sharp contrast to the usual high budget booty-riddled videos that have become the norm in recent times. It would have been much easier for a generic video to this song especially as it is based off the usual story of a girl who wants to capitalise on her demand from men as an eventual catalyst. I hope it is agreed that Santi is indeed a major culture-pusher.
To be fair Santi has adopted this approach in most of his visuals,(see “Gangsta Fear” and “Alté Cruise” both showing off Santi's directing pedigry)
The song is produced by Genio Bambino, brilliantly samples Ikechukwu’s “Shoobedoobedoo”; features a seamless hook from Bridge; and a smooth second verse/outro from, Nonso Amadi.
